You can be assured there is a warm and friendly welcome to any of our courses, classes and workshops. We offer you the opportunity to step into the glamourous, crazy, seductive, hilarious, sexy world of Burlesque.
The Intro Into The Art of Tease is the starting point of your Burlesque journey, whether it's something you just want to hace a go at - or go onto to strut the stage. Level 1 Burlesque with Sugar Spanx is the next level, the step into choreography, character and so much more. There are lots of different styles of Burlesque to enjoy. Ruby Spice is the Queen of the Neo Burlesque experience, she will have you in fits of laughter whilst still adding a touch of sass.
Sign up for the workshops we offer from some of the best in the NZ and International Burlesque community, these are offered as and when 'guest' performers are in Hamilton/Waikato.

What: We will explore burlesque history, and learn about this fabulous art form.
Learn how to use your tools of tease, the art of tease using classic moves whilst gaining body confidence, fall in love with the way you can move. You will learn basics of this vintage performance art of tease, learn a series of glove peels, use of props like a boa or a fan, Struts, poses and the fun, sexy classic burlesque dance moves that go with this vintage burlesque style.

Beginner - Intro Into The Art of Tease

Come join seasoned burlesque performer and producer of the award winning The Rock n Roll Circus, Sugar Spanx and develop your burlesque skills and persona.
This is a 6 week block course where you will learn some basic burlesque moves, a fun and flirty chair dance, costuming and stage makeup basics and you will work toward creating your own act (if you wish) and performer name and short biography. If you have already completed this course then you can work on your exisiting act/s and delve deeper into your burlesque persona.
This course is ideal for those who have taken at least 2 of Glamilton Burlesque Academy's Intro to the Art of Tease courses or have basic dance experience and want to dip their toes into the possibility of performing.
The final week of the course will be an informal class performance to your peers, friends and family where you will perform either the class act or your own act.

Ruby will take you through her wonderful, wild and sometimes weird world of Neo-Burlesque style.
Neo Burlesque can range from anything from classic striptease to medern dance, to theatrical mini dramas to comedic mayhem.
